Who we are

Maria.app is an independent project operated by its founder (“Maria.app”, “we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Maria.app website and app. Contact: [email protected].

Information we collect

  • On your device. Your settings and prayer progress are stored in your browser's local storage and are not sent to us. Clearing site data removes them.
  • Prayer counts. The app sends anonymous totals by prayer or devotion, language, completion and general progress, audio use, general device type, local date and hour, and broad ranges of time spent. We do not link these statistics to individuals or store identifying information or prayer text with them.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track individual visitors. Its script (static.cloudflareinsights.com) is the only third-party script on Maria.app.
  • Hosting and security. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.
  • Email. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to respond.

We have no accounts, advertising or cookies.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run Maria.app, mainly Cloudflare and our email provider, or where required by law.

International processing

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare operates its global network.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Daily prayer totals are limited to 400 recorded days; other anonymous counts are running totals. Temporary retry codes are deleted after 48 hours.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Maria.app is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes take effect on the “last updated” date shown above.
